Disney Entertainment Sr Manager, Growth Strategy Subscription Services (Nat Geo) in Washington, District Of Columbia

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr Manager, Growth Strategy Subscription Services to join the National Geographic Content team. Our team is responsible for product development and management of Nat Geo’s Editorial subscription services. This role is responsible for enhancing the value proposition and subscription experience of our Nat Geo digital and print/digital subscriptions, overseeing the planning and execution of subscription acquisition, engagement and retention/renewal. Strong management and communication skills are required to lead a cross functional team that supports execution of the annual plan. This is a fast-paced position that requires strategic thinking, attention to detail, organization, and some technical proficiency needed to guide product development based off our operations and technical platforms.

Responsibilities:

Oversees Premium/NMG/History subscription management which includes refining target audiences, product value proposition, pricing and offer strategy.

  • Partner with research to develop target audience personas.

  • Ensure understanding and alignment across our teams.

  • Build compelling insight-driven product positioning and messaging strategies.

  • Partner with Analytics team to develop annual test plans and rollout plans on pricing, messaging, subscription funnel optimization.

  • Identify new product features that are quantifiable acquisition drivers. Partner with the digital experience team to prioritize in our tech roadmap (as needed) or create business case for external partnership.

  • Support business requirements documentation.

In partnership with the Director define the annual plans for Premium/NGM/History. Plans per product include:

  • Acquisition strategies and tactics, promotional beats, renewal/retention plan-all with goal of meeting/exceeding subscription total subscription targets. A critical acquisition strategy for Premium is finding new ways to promote our best converting content beyond Nat Geo’s owned channels to attract new audiences.

  • Engagement plan tailored for each target to ensure paying subs are maximizing their subscription.

Ongoing management of plan execution. You will be analyzing data, insights and performance to inform and refine the plan as needed.

  • Oversee marketing campaign concepting and creative development including agency management.

  • In partnership with CRM/channel management teams ensure campaign details, test plans and KPI’s are documented with detailed requirements to enable efficient and successful execution of strategic deliverables.

  • Manage cross-functional teams to ensure all are delivering on agreed plans that drive strategic goal.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience Direct to Consumer subscription services (DTC) or Publishing required.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing direct reports.

  • Vendor and Agency management experience required.

  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience in a leading teams and communication to senior level stakeholders.

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must live in a commutable distance to office in Washington, DC. (This role requires someone in the office 4x/week)

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field OF Equivalent work experience
