Basic Job Functions

Responsibilities for the Quality Supervisor include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and coach teammates as well as provide performance reviews and recommend compensation adjustments based on performance.

  • Develop products/grades and help execute on the division and department quality goals.

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the internal quality team

  • Oversee and maintain the division quality management system.

  • Work with third parties to ensure audits are conducted on time and that the division is always in compliance. Report all findings to the division.

  • Support internal quality checks and perform spot audits, prepare training as needed to educate and correct deficiencies.

  • Drive enhancements to ensure high levels of quality performance for the whole division.

  • Seeking continuous improvement in every facet of team performance with a keen emphasis on safety, quality, cost, and productivity.

  • Willing to travel to support our customers & suppliers through any challenges or difficulties with the quality of our products.

    Safety, this is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-years of Quality System experience or a Bachelors degree in metallurgy or material science.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior leadership experience.

  • 4-year Engineering degree
