The Opportunity: Avantor is looking for a Planning Supervisor to be responsible for leading a team of supply chain associates (buyers, planners and finite schedulers) in buying direct materials for production, ensuring appropriate inventory levels are maintained, and developing multi-week production plans and finite production schedules, and driving adherence to schedule. This role will be a full-time position based out of our Solon, Ohio office. You will have the opportunity to lead and facilitate process improvement projects across the Supply Chain to more cost effectively meet customer requirements, analyzing existing processes and leading improvement initiatives based on data analysis to strengthen current supply chain capabilities. What we're looking for: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Supply Chain or related industry preferred. Experience: 5+ years of experience or an advanced degreewith slightly lessyears of experience. 3+ years previous supervisor experience. Experience with SAP as a superuser. Previous experience in Pharmaceutical, Chemical or related industry. Experience in a regulated environment such as cGMP, ISO or FDA. Certification(s): Six Sigma certification or other formal problem-solving skills highly desirable. Additional Qualifications: Extensive Knowledge of Supply Chain Management is required. Must have strong analytical skills including advanced use of MS Access, Excel, SQL and programming in VBA or similar languages. Able to lead and coach a team of supply chain associates. Set team expectations. Teach and coach associates to develop new skills and improve performance. Able to interpret complex data to all levels of the organization. Able to apply Six Sigmatechniques for structured problem solving and process improvements. Ability to teach and transfer skills to team members and general audiences. Ability to interact and communicate complex concepts with all levels of the organization. Strong knowledge of process mapping. Excellent communication, analytical and multi-tasking skills. How you will thrive and create an impact: Perform complex data analysis, recommending action based on insights gained from the analysis. Support managing metrics and dashboards to drive buying, planning and scheduling performance improvement. Support efforts to meet OTIF and inventory goals, and drive team productivity. Support forecasting geared towards providing early warnings of positive or negative trends in specific areas of the supply chain. Support complex data analysis and ad-hoc reporting, summarizing and presenting data in meaningful way to all levels of the organization. Lead and coach buyers, planners, and schedulers in daily tasks to ensure high quality scheduling and planning. Develop a 2-4 week schedule. Lead the team in line balancing and capacity analysis across a group of assigned work centers. Analyze demand across the planning horizon and makes recommended changes to reorder points and safety stocks. Identify new techniques and trends related to data analysis and reporting. Drive innovation and experimentation to find new best practices across the supply chain. Establish key metrics to measure Supply Chain performance; including but not limited to Supplier scorecards, schedule adherence, stocking and sku profitability, etc. Production and distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly reports and dashboards. Serve as an internal subject matter expert on the reporting tools and metrics employed. Serve as technical expert on SAP and SAP APO data sources to facilitate reporting using QlikView. Develop metrics, that measures existing processeswith the aim ofpresenting this information to customers, both internal and/or external facilitating improvements in existing processes.
