You can make an impact by being a strong advocate for residents in long-term care facilities in the Capital Region. Catholic Charities Senior and Caregiver Support Services is looking for an energetic, passionate, detail-oriented full-time Ombudsman Coordinator to join our dynamic team.

As a Long Term Care Ombudsman Coordinator , you will travel to long-term care facilities throughout a 10 county region to meet with residents, provide information to them and advocate on their behalf to resolve issues and concerns. You will meet with residents and family members, conduct investigations around complaints, interview facility staff, review pertinent medical records, and propose and negotiate workable solutions consistent with residents’ rights. Ombudsman Coordinators also support a corps of volunteer ombudsman through providing guidance in complaint handling and presenting trainings on topics related to residents’ rights.

Minimum Pay Rate: $23 per hour

Maximum Pay Rate: $24 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 20 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field

  • Two years’ experience in Human Services or a related field

  • Have access to a vehicle during work hours, have valid driver’s license and maintain required vehicle insurance

  • Experience working with older adults in a long-term care facility or as an advocate is strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other computer applications
