The Agent/Advisor position is a client-based role where build your own business but have the benefits of the support of a Fortune 100 company. Training and resources

You will receive top-notch training that will give you an understanding and appreciation for the strength and value of New York Life. Beyond this training and support, New York Life will provide access to the resources you need to succeed day-to-day, including experts on hand to answer your questions and a suite of digital sales, prospecting and marketing tools that will help you attract and retain your clients with web, social and email content.

The Work Itself

  • Highly self-motivated and self-disciplined with the ability to work effectively and independently
  • Actively participate in short and long-range planning for clients and provide guidance to address complex issues and provide education to assist the client in making positive decisions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout their entire experience as a client.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to develop relationships (i.e., "People Person") and a sincere desire to help others
  • Fearless, positive attitude and willingness to be accountable for results organized, detail-oriented, and excellent time-management skills
  • A desire for continuous learning
  • Good communicator---excellent listening skills and ability to explain complex information in a simple and concise manner
  • Recruit/prospect, develop, and maintain a broad clientele base.
  • Identify and pursue sales leads, prospective clients and/or businesses and move them through the sales pipeline from qualification to closing
  • Present a win-win solution for the prospect, negotiate sales contract specifics, and close deals
  • A desire for continuous learning

  • Prior Insurance industry experience is a plus but not necessary
  • Bachelor's degree. Business or finance degrees are a plus but not necessary.
  • Advanced degrees (MBA, Med, MA, MS) are a plus but not necessary (possible accelerated track to management).

Compensation

$55,000 - $105,000 yearly

Your income is based on your effort plus per ormance-based incentives. New agents, with no insurance/financial services experience, are compensated through commission, training allowance subsidy, and bonuses.
