POSITION: Administrative Coordinator for Adult Career and Technical Education - FT
ESBOCES is looking for an educational leader who values diversity, equity and inclusion, and who has experience navigating multiple constituents, agencies and audiences to run successful programming in support of adult learners. This position reports to the Program Administrator for Adult Career and Technical Education, and serves as a leader within the department, agency and the region to promote the development of adult education and technical programming that align with industry standard, support lifelong learning, and ensure customer satisfaction.
SITES: Adult Education Center (Sayville), Bixhorn Technical Center (Bellport), Milliken Technical Center (Oakdale), Ward Technical Center (Riverhead)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supports teachers and students in programs that run from 8:00 am – 10:00 pm Monday – Thursday. The successful candidate will flex their schedule to support day and evening programs when they are in session
Assist in the development and expansion of new programs and courses related to immediate and future workforce needs
Seek and apply for training grants and funding
Take proactive approach to organize, coordinate, and track multiple initiatives
Actively recruit a diverse student and staff clientele to increase enrollment and broaden services
Provide orientation of personnel on operational procedures and program procedures; including attendance, student follow-up data, and requisition of instructional materials
Provide support and direct program staff and administrators to perform responsibilities related to the supervision of teachers, labor specialist, vocational advisors, and office personnel
Visit all locations before classes are established to ensure conditions are conducive for scheduled classes
Continually engage with myriad professional and self-improvement practices
Establish partnerships to improve student outcomes
Actively promote diversity, equity, and inclusion practices throughout the agency
Expand relationships with local businesses and community organizations
Coordinates recruitment events, networking, and career fairs
Manage multiple work streams, deadlines, and projects simultaneously
Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to illustrate student success and program impact; serve as a data drive thought leader
Serve on a collaborative leadership team that innovates and evolves programming
START DATE: July 1, 2024
SALARY: $132,805.00
Job Qualifications
NYS SDA/SDL Certification
Career and Technical Education experience (preferred)
Ability to create a welcoming and affirming learning environment for all stakeholders
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite (including WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
