Google Technical Solutions Engineer, Infrastructure, Google Cloud Consulting in Paris, France

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Candidates will typically have 4 years of experience coding in a general purpose language or in system design, and troubleshooting and advocating for customers needs, and triaging technical issues.

  • Typically 4 years of experience with two or more of the following: Web Tech, Data/Big Data, Systems Admin, Machine Learning, Networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, SAP.

  • Ability to communicate in English and French fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Candidates will typically have 4 years of experience in technical consulting on supporting large enterprise customers with high service-level objective and service-level agreement requirements.

  • Experience using techniques such as packet capture/packet analysis, artificial packet creation, load testing, and traffic path analysis to troubleshoot network latency, packet loss, or other performance issues at the packet level.

  • Experience implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices.

  • Experience with cloud computing (i.e., certifications, internships, coursework, etc.).

  • Knowledge of basic web technologies (e.g., HTTP, DNS, TCP, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix or other operating systems.

As a Technical Solutions Consultant, you will be responsible for the technical relationship of our largest advertising clients and/or product partners. You will lead cross-functional teams in Engineering, Sales and Product Management to leverage emerging technologies for our external clients/partners. From concept design and testing to data analysis and support, you will oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's online advertising platforms and/or product partnerships.

You will be able to balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative, cutting edge solutions and act as a partner and consultant to those you are working with. You will also be able to build tools and automate products, oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's partnerships, as well as develop product strategy and prioritize projects and resources.

As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will be part of a global team that provides support to help customers seamlessly make the switch to Google Cloud. You will troubleshoot technical issues for customers with a mix of debugging, networking, system administration, documentation updating, and coding/scripting. You will make our products easier to adopt and to use by making improvements to the product, tools, processes, and documentation. You'll help drive business growth of Google Cloud by recognizing and advocating for our customers issues.

  • File issue reports against product, documentation and procedures by documenting desired behavior and/or steps to reproduce, and driving bugs to resolution.

  • Suggest code-level resolutions for complex product bugs by leveraging relevant tools and effective communication to all stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Resolve technical incidents and escalations by performing analysis utilizing relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python) and leveraging custom data infrastructure or existing data models as appropriate, formulating and interpreting data to reach specific conclusions and next steps.

  • Identify opportunities and build solutions to improve support or empower customers to solve issues by using self-service tools and documentation.

  • Work as part of a team of Engineers/Consultants that globally ensure 24 hour customer support. This will include a need to sometimes work non-standard work hours or shifts.
