Director of Web Services and Digital Presence (IT Acd Tech Dir (HEO)) - Instructional Computing & Information Technology (ICIT)

POSITION DETAILS

The Director of Web Services and Digital Presence (IT Acd Tech Dir (HEO)) reports directly to the Chief Information Officer with dotted line report to Deputy Chief Information Officer. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Provide Digital Presence managerial leadership over Hunter's Websites, Social Media channels, and other Communications platforms in support of the college's academic mission

· Plan, drive and manage complex projects and initiatives designed to improve the colleges overall Digital Presence

· Support and conduct the revision, conversion, migration and ongoing maintenance of the college's Websites and other Digital Presence assets.

· Develop and execute a cohesive digital strategy that supports recruitment efforts, accessibility compliance, governance, and maintenance planning.

· Conduct accessibility initiatives and regular compliance audits, coordinate accessibility awareness training, and ensure compliance with federal ADA WCAG accessibility standards.

· Coordinate and optimize various communications channels to present a unified and impactful image of the college

· Implement targeted strategies to enhance the college's recruitment efforts, showcase its strengths, and manage its online reputation effectively.

· Provide focus on user-centric design, content optimization, and usability enhancements to create a positive online experience (User Experience and User Interface)

· Develop and implements content control strategies, editorial calendars, and quality control processes to keep content fresh, engaging, and on-brand.

· Leads the college to stay current, ensuring that Hunter remains at the forefront of digital innovation.

· Develop and use analytics, search engine optimization, etc., to track the performance of digital efforts and develop key performance indicators to assist informed decision-making and continuous improvement

· Promote a collaborative and innovative team culture, leading to high employee satisfaction and retention.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Passionate about using digital presence assets to support the college’s academic mission

  • Comfortable working with all levels of the organization

  • Six to ten years of Web Development and managerial experience

  • Proficient project manager

  • Experience implementing cyber-security controls across networks and applications in a complex, evolving, heterogeneous, virtualized environment

  • Knowledgeable with technologies and systems such as: CUNYfirst Data, Xenegrade Data, CSS, JavaScript, Django, EWS, XML, JSON, PHP, Shiboleth, Active Directories, Visual Studio, CPanel, SQL, MySQL, Office 365, and Sharepoint to deliver comprehensive and integrated web solutions.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Ability to use independent initiative to solve problems

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Oversees a College instructional technology facility, multimedia center, research technology unit, or related area

  • Provides expertise in a variety of technologies and equipment used to support academic instruction and/or research

  • Ensures quality customer service to all clients, particularly faculty and staff

  • Develops and executes long-term technology plans and manages acquisition of appropriate equipment and services

  • Oversees installation, maintenance, and repairs of technical equipment

  • Evaluates usage, capacity, systems performance, and security considerations, and implements upgrades as required

  • Establishes operation and maintenance routines, manage day-to-day technical operations, and oversees assigned staff

  • May serve as Deputy to a Chief Information Officer or other technology executive

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience ( $100,329- $141,858).
