Bowery Residents Committee Health Data Coordinator - 131 West 25th Street in Manhattan, New York

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Health Data Coordinator works as part of the program management team to track health data and manage related processes that support the provision of high-quality services across BRC’s programs. The position supports the administration and management of various programmatic efforts relating to the tracking and reporting of client health data, including managing BRC’s participation in health data sharing networks, ensuring information in BRC’s case management database supports Medicaid billing, reporting data relating to BRC’s opioid overdose prevention efforts, and tracking data and policies relating to COVID-19 and other public health emergencies. The Health Data Coordinator reports to BRC’s Director of Client Data Management.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support the efficient and effective tracking and reporting of client health data and electronic health record capabilities in BRC’s case management database.

  • Manage BRC’s participation in health data sharing and other collaborative health networks, including facilitating system administration, data reporting and quality assurance efforts.

  • Support Medicaid billing processes by reviewing weekly/monthly billing-related documentation for accuracy and preparing billing information from BRC’s case management database.

  • Support BRC’s opioid overdose prevention efforts by tracking and reporting on use of Naloxone to City and State regulatory bodies.

  • Synthesize and provide health-related data to stakeholders across the organization, including program management, human resources leadership and medical staff.

  • Provide support to the medical and program leadership in developing and distributing policies and procedures relating to other public health initiatives.

  • Manage the collection and tracking of COVID-19 vaccination, booster and testing data to ensure employees and client interns are compliant with mandates.

  • Manage the collection and tracking of data relating to employees and clients who test positive or are exposed to COVID-19.

  • Related duties as assigned.

    Skills:

  • Superior computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and other database programs.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail, accuracy and pacing.

  • Effective interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated judgment and discretion with regard to confidential information.

  • Ability to proactively work independently and apply critical thinking.

  • Strong commitment to improving equity and inclusion in all facets of work.

HOURS:

Full-time 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA required in related field such as Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, etc.

Prior work experience in human services, behavioral health or related fields is required.

*Vaccination preferred but not required
