Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal

The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.

We are seeking a Communication and Business Support Specialist to the Sr. Director Manufacturing QA within our Diabetes Division, Donegal:

Primary Function :

The Communication and Business Support Specialist to the Sr. Director Manufacturing QA is responsible for assisting the Sr. Director / Quality Directors to deliver on the business objectives by managing their calendars in line with business priorities including the planning of domestic and international travel, assisting in various projects, and dealing with administrative and business support activities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the diaries of the Sr. Director Manufacturing QA and the Site Quality Directors.

  • Responsible for planning and arranging all travel by the Sr. Director Manufacturing QA and the Site Quality Directors.

  • Supporting the travel arrangements of key personnel within the site by acting as an SME on travel logistics and associated booking systems.

  • Reconciling expenses for the Sr. Director Manufacturing QA and the Site Quality Directors.

  • Managing time and attendance in Workday for the direct staff of the Sr. Director Manufacturing QA and the Site Quality Directors.

  • Compiling weekly reports based on input from across the business.

  • Creating content for PowerPoint presentations and site communications which highlights key messages and illustrates important details.

  • Supporting various business activities as requested by the Sr. Director Manufacturing QA and the Site Quality Directors.

Key Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Excellent diary management with the ability to proactively pre-empt clashes or opportunities to maximize the efficient use of time.

  • Knowledge and experience with complex travel and flight itineraries, particularly international travel/hotel bookings.

  • Strong experience of and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office – Outlook / Word / Excel / PowerPoint.

  • A degree in business is desirable but relevant undergraduate courses will be acceptable when combined with relevant experience.

Accountability/Scope:

  • Reporting to the Site Quality Director who will determine the level of responsibility based on the individual's experience and capability.
