Responsibilities NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Supply Technician FLSA: Non-exempt JOB SERIES: 2005 PAY LEVEL: NF-3 INTRODUCTION: This position is located within the Warehouse Operations Unit, Supply Section, Logistics Branch, Marine Corps Community Services Division, Marine Corps Base, Camp Smedley D. Butler, Okinawa, Japan. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs detailed clerical and/or technical support within the framework of established supply management guidelines by applying standardized supply practices. Responsible for the processing of all warehouse requisitions on-a-daily-basis. Ensures all Orders are verified to identify any discrepancies and corrective action is taken prior to delivery. Ensures all items identified as unserviceable are placed into the COD location and all proper processes and documentation are completed and items are disposed of to prevent cross contamination. Verifies that all shipments are receipted into warehouse correctly ensuring descriptions, quantities and expiration dates are annotated on receiving documentation. Responsible for the Training of all new employees who will be utilizing the MCCS Supply Inventory Management system for placing requests to MCCS Supply. Conducts and or assists with monthly inventories of all items and conducts causative research on any discrepancies noted. Responsible for coordinating with the FMB Section for actual disposition of damaged/spoiled merchandises once approval has been received. Responsible for maintaining appropriate files on all merchandise disposed, the reason for disposal, and the method in which disposed. Serves as the Safety Representative for MCCS Supply. Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly. Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials, and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office. Ensures safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with ¿Return to Work¿ program initiatives and following up on employee wellbeing. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles, and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Participates in mass casualty/crises action support drills, real-world emergency family assistance response exercises, and serves as a MCCS MCBB Emergency Family Assistance Center operations team member. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; (Valid documentation will be required upon hire.) Must have at least two (2) years of experience in performing warehousing/storage, inventory control, warehouse safety, regulations and required personal protective equipment. Must have at least two (2) years of experience that demonstrates working knowledge of the functions of supply automated data base systems, programs such as Oracle, and ability to identify and adjust information, research and correct errors and discrepancies. A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) fork-lift operator's permit (4-6 ton forklift) is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate licensing may result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Knowledge of business mathematics. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Ability to direct the efforts of small work crews. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
